Former Proteas batsman Herschelle Gibbs says he was hired as coach of Asian Legends League T20 team, the Bangladesh Tigers, and then never heard from them again.

Gibbs expressed his frustration in an X post ahead of the match between the Tigers and Indian Royals on Monday.

When asked by SACricketmag.com when he was supposed to arrive and if he would still be going, the 51-year-old said: “Well the league starts today so I was meant to fly on Saturday … no point in going if they ghost you.”

Gibbs added that the Tigers were “happy to use your image to advertise but can’t be bothered to do the rest …”

Gibbs’ appointment was announced by the Tigers on their social media pages, while the official tournament account shared a video from him last month (see posts below).
