Play of the Day

Despite being undermined by AB’s brilliant innings, Dhawal Kulkarni’s 4-8 is the Play of the Day for its sheer impact.

It’s not often that a man on the losing side gets the Play, but you have to admire Kulkarni’s effort with his medium pacers.

The Lions were seemingly dead and buried  after being held to 158 on a batting pitch. It was game over. But Kulkarni proceeded to embarrass the Challengers hugely by dismissing the series’ top batsman Virat Kohli for 0, Chris Gayle (9), Lokesh Rahul (0) and Sachin Baby (0). Three of IPL’s finest for 0.

Kulkarni finished his four overs with 14 runs against him. Surely, after Ravindra Jadeja’s input of 2-18 at that point, the Challengers were history. They just forgot about AB de Villiers…
