Africa’s World T20 Qualifiers off to a flying start

The ICC World Twenty20 Africa ‘C’ Qualifiers began at the Botswana Cricket Oval in Gaborone on Sunday.

The more fancied Namibian side lived up to expectations as they thumped Swaziland by 10 wickets in their opening encounter on BCA Oval 2. It took the Eagles just under five overs to chase the measly target of 72 set by Swaziland.

Hosts Botswana were not far behind as they produced a stellar performance in front of their home crowd to dismiss Mozambique for 48, winning by 124 runs after setting them a target of 172.

Team Botswana captain Karabo Mothlanka was the star of the show as he reached his half-century off 41 balls and led the team with aplomb from behind the stumps with a few key catches.
