Markram shines as Titans take control

Aiden Markram snapped a poor run of form, scoring a century for the Titans against the Warriors in Centurion.

The Proteas opener was unbeaten on 149 at stumps, contributing a high percentage of runs to his team’s total of 272-6. Incredibly, Markram scored 114 of his runs in boundaries.

With the Boxing Day Test just over a month away, Markram needed a performance to boost his chances of a Proteas return. This innings was just that.

In Johannesburg, the Knights got to stumps at 291-9. The pick of their batsmen were Grant Mokoena (50) and Migael Pretorius (73*).

Sisanda Magala was the pick of the Lions’ bowlers, finishing the day with figures of 3-57.

Meanwhile, in Durban, the Dolphins are in control of their match against the Cobras thanks to a solid collective batting performance.

Opener Senuran Muthusamy anchored the innings with a patient 79, while Keegan Petersen (32), Marques Ackerman (66) and Khaya Zondo (60*) all contributed to a team total of 277-5 at the close.
