Titans too good for Tuskers in T20 Knock Out

The Titans beat the Tuskers by 24 runs in Bloemfontein on Thursday to qualify for the T20 Knock Out quarter-finals.

The Knights, whose final match against the Mpumalanga Rhinos was abandoned due to rain, have also qualified from Pool B.

The Titans posted 157-7 from their 20 overs, with opener Jan-Hendrick Pretorius scoring 40 off 39 balls and Donovan Ferreira smashing an unbeaten 43 off 24.

Pretorius was a late replacement for Dean Elgar, who suffered a hamstring injury during the warm-up.

Off-spinner Kurtlyn Mannikam was the pick of the Tuskers bowlers, taking 2-17 in three overs.

Luke Schlemmer struck 33 off 26 balls to get the Tuskers innings off to a good start but he was run out in the eighth over.

Keith Dudgeon (run-a-ball 23) and Andile Mokgakane (19 off 25) combined for a 44-run fifth-wicket stand, but the run rate kept climbing and the Pietermaritzburg-based team finished on 133-7.

Titans seamer Okuhle Cele took 2-25 in four overs.
