The Northerns Titans beat the Western Province Blitz by 16 runs in a rain-reduced 13-overs-a-side T20 Challenge match in Potchefstroom on Friday.
The Titans suffered an early setback when Dewald Brevis was bowled by Nandre Burger for a second-ball duck.
Proteas Test captain Dean Elgar made a run-a-ball 12 before being caught and bowled by Burger.
But Jiveshan Pillay’s 37 off 24 balls and Donavon Ferreira’s 27* off 15 helped get the Titans to 108-7.
WP made a nightmare start to their run chase with Ayabulela Gqamane dismissing both Kyle Verreynne and captain Tony de Zorzi for first-ball ducks.
George Linde went on to top-score with 36 off 29 balls before being run out, and Province ended on 98-5 to suffer their third defeat in as many matches.
