The first ODI between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan in Harare on Tuesday was called off due to rain after the hosts made 44-5 in 9.2 overs.

Rain had delayed the start of the first of three ODI internationals, and when play did start at 2pm local time the game was reduced to a 28-over contest.

However, less than one hour later, rain forced the match to be called off and declared a “no result”.

The teams meet again on Thursday and Saturday.
