Bad light cuts India A’s run chase short

The second four-day match between South Africa A and India A in Bloemfontein ended in a draw after bad light stopped play with the visitors needing 79 runs to win.

India A lost their third wicket – Abhimanyu Easwaran for 55 – on what would be the last ball before the players were taken off the field by the umpires.

Hanuma Vihari finished unbeaten on 72 with the visitors on 155-3. There were still a minimum of 27.3 overs remaining in the day’s play.

Earlier in the day, SA A were bowled out for 212 in their second innings, with Marco Jansen (28) and Glenton Stuurman (26*) again making vital contributions down the order.

The first match was also drawn, with the third and final match of the series set to start on Monday.
