CSA calls urgent meeting after Moroe returns for work

In an extraordinary turn of events, Thabang Moroe was denied entry to the Cricket South Africa offices in Johannesburg this morning after his suspension expired last week Friday.

Moroe, who is the CEO of CSA, was placed on paid suspension for six months pending an investigation in December last year.

On Tuesday, SA Cricket magazine reported that CSA had missed the deadline to submit findings from their investigation into ‘allegations of misconduct’ against Moroe.

Saca questions CSA’s handling of Moroe

Newsroom broke the story on Thursday afternoon, having posted pictures on Twitter of Moroe arriving at the CSA offices with security not allowing him in.

CSA has since called for an urgent board meeting tonight, while they will also issue a statement during the course of the day.

Moroe was replaced by Jacques Faul in December in an acting capacity, which also means it could be within Moroe’s rights to return to work following the completion of his six-month suspension.
