Da Silva (54* off 129 balls) and Holder (57 off 62) put on 98 runs for the sixth wicket as the tourists ended day one of the three-day warm-up match on 283-9 after 89 overs.
Corbin Bosch (2-17), Irvin Modimokoane (2-39) and Smangaliso Nhlebela (2-71) were the hosts’ most successful bowlers.
