Farhan, Philippe dominate as Sultans smash Pindiz

Sahibzada Farhan and Josh Philippe powered Multan Sultans to a seven-wicket win after Faisal Akram’s four-wicket spell restricted Rawalpindiz.

Sahibzada Farhan and Josh Philippe powered Multan Sultans to a seven-wicket win after Faisal Akram’s four-wicket spell restricted Rawalpindiz.

Rawalpindiz posted 182-8 after being sent in. Kamran Ghulam made 35, but the innings lost momentum through the middle overs. Left-arm wrist-spinner Faisal Akram led the response, taking 4-31 and removing key batters as Rawalpindiz struggled to build partnerships.

Sam Billings finished unbeaten on 56 off 34 balls, adding late runs to push the total towards competitiveness. Dian Forrester added quick runs with three sixes, but support was limited as the innings relied on late acceleration.

Multan’s chase was controlled from the powerplay. Farhan struck 68 off 38 balls, setting the tempo alongside Philippe, who added 56. Their 110-run partnership came at a high rate and reduced the required total early in the innings.

Both were dismissed after passing fifty, but by that stage the required rate had dropped significantly. Shan Masood and Ashton Turner completed the chase without pressure.

Multan scored 58 in the powerplay compared to Rawalpindiz’s slower start, which proved decisive. Akram’s spell in the middle overs and the early dominance from Farhan and Philippe ensured a comfortable result.
