India A reduce deficit as match heads for draw

India A were 308-4 at stumps on day three of the first four-day match in Bloemfontein, still 201 runs behind South Africa A.

Abhimanyu Easwaran top-scored for the visitors with 103 after captain Priyank Panchal had made 96.

Lutho Sipamla (2-73) and George Linde (2-32) were SA A’s most successful bowlers.

Linde trapped Panchal lbw to end a 142-second-wicket partnership and then had Hanuma Vihari caught behind by Sinethemba Qeshile for 25.

Easwaran was caught by Sarel Erwee off the bowling of Sipamla with the total on 294.

Baba Aparajith (19*) and Upendra Yadav (5*) were still at the crease when bad light stopped play.
