India will host Australia in a blockbuster five-Test series starting in January next year.
The first Test will take place in Nagpur, with the series then moving to Chennai, Guwahati, Ranchi and Ahmedabad.
India suffered a 2-0 Test series whitewash against the Proteas at home last year and are sixth in the World Test Championship table led by Australia.
India’s home season will begin with white-ball series, including three ODIs and five T20Is, against the West Indies starting on 27 September.
The cricketing powerhouse will host Sri Lanka in December for white-ball series, including three ODI and three T20Is.
Zimbabwe will be in India for three ODIs in January.

The final is scheduled for 31 May, but only the fixtures for the first two weeks have been announced because of elections in several Indian states.
