NZ sweep to big win against Windies

New Zealand beat the West innings by an innings and 134 runs in the first Test of their series.

The victory, New Zealand’s 14 consecutive at home, was built on a massive first innings of 519/7 declared. Kane Williamson top scored with 251.

In reply the Windies were bowled out for just 138, Tim Southee taking a 4-for.

The tourists didn’t fare much better in the follow-on. Only Jermaine Blackwood (104) and Alzarri Joseph (86) mustered any resistance. The Windies were bowled out for 247, Neil Wagner taking 4/66.
