Dean Elgar scored 136 off 236 balls (16 fours, one six) for Essex in their draw against Hampshire.

The former Proteas captain has scored 903 runs – the fourth-most in the tournament – in 16 innings this season at an average of 60.20, with three hundreds and five fifties.

Durban-born Gareth Roderick scored 63 off 154 deliveries (eight fours) in Worcestershire’s first innings, helping them to an eight-wicket victory over Kent.

County Division Two

Forty-year-old batsman Wayne Madsen scored 70 off 136 balls (10 fours) – taking his season tally past 500 – for Derbyshire in their 10-wicket victory over Glamorgan.

Colin Ingram continues to be one of the few positives of a poor Glamorgan campaign, scoring 53 off 100 deliveries (nine fours) in their 10-wicket defeat to Derbyshire.
