Steyn hits sizzling form

Dale Steyn finished with crucial figures of 2-29 to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore clinch a one-run victory against the table-topping Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.

The Proteas superstar was brought in late for the injured Nathan Coulter-Nile, and has had an immediate impact on his side’s recent success. His deadly contributions under pressure will have the South African public  beaming ahead of the 2019 World Cup starting on 30 May.

His yorker to topple Suresh Raina for a duck summed up his class, after removing Shane Watson the ball before. This gave RCB the perfect start en route to defending their total of 161-7, knocking the hosts down 6-2 off the final two balls of the opening over.

It wasn’t the easiest of games for RCB as the game went to the wire, the visitors winning by one run.

Steyn also took 2-40 in his opening match for the Challengers, as he gradually shows why he is a crucial player for his side.

RCB are on the hunt to claw their way back from the foot of the table as they picked up up their third victory of the campaign. This took the side to six points, four points behind the Sunrisers Hyderabad in fourth as they aim for a playoff spot. Steyn is demonstrating why he is vital to their current winning  form.
